FISHING REPORTS
Bella Vista Fishing Report : Feb 27 to Mar 5 - 2010
Conditions were not ideal this week, with some very strong winds and high water temperatures. However, on the days when the wind dropped a good number of fish were caught. The majority were very fresh and had an excellent average weight of 13.5 lbs.
Bairs Lodge Fishing Report : Feb 27 to Mar 6 - 2010
There were a good number of fish caught this week. Early on most boats were landing 15 – 20 fish each day. After the cold front came through the numbers were down a bit, but some larger fish were caught. Several fantastic fish were landed over 5 pounds, one fish at 8 pounds and the biggest of the week at 10 pounds.
Abaco Lodge Fishing Report : Feb 27 to Mar 6 - 2010
The cold weather has been a challenge but we are still seeing a few tailers on warm sunny days but they are a little more nervous than usual. As the weather has improved we are seeing the fish moving back into the Marls from deeper water. The good news is we are seeing a lot more big fish, several fish over 6 pounds were caught this week the largest being an 8 pounder.
Villa Maria Fishing Report : Feb 26 to Mar 4 - 2010
The second best week of the season so far. We caught 97 fish between seven rods and lost another 35. The best fish of the week was a 25 pound bar of silver. As the water level has been dropping for a while and the water is clear, we are using mostly floating lines with a sink tip.
Kau Tapen Fishing Report : Feb 27 to Mar 5 - 2010
A cosmopolitan week at Kau Tapen, with anglers from 5 different countries. The river was in near perfect condition and we had an excellent week. 161 fish were landed with the majority being very fresh.
Bairs Lodge Fishing Report : Feb 21 to Mar 1 - 2010
Fishing was good this week. The group in the early week caught many bonefish each day including several fish over 5 pounds and one topping scale at nearly 10 pounds. The groups in the latter part of the week had great fishing for bones and barracuda.The weather might be settling now, so we expect the fishing to get better with each week.
Villa Maria Fishing Report : Feb 19 - 26 of 2010
This was the best week of the season so far and the river is full of fresh fish. We landed 105 fish for the week, with an average weight of 8.3 lbs. The fish of the week was a beautiful 26 pounder, caught by Ken. With a full moon and high tides approaching we expect the runs of fish to continue improving.
Bella Vista Fishing Report : Feb 20 to Feb 26 - 2010
The river is in great condition and the guides got a chance to fish for 3 days. 19 fish were caught with an average weight of 11.5 lbs. The high water from previous weeks has now dropped away and the good conditions look set to continue.
Abaco Lodge Fishing Report : Feb 7 to 14 - 2010
Depite some unusually cold weather in the Bahamas we have continued to catch plenty of fish. We also proved that there is more to Abaco than just bonefish with some spectacular barracuda fishing and trigger fish on the fly.
Kau Tapen Fishing Report : Feb 20 - 26 of 2010
The best week of the season so far! We welcomed back a group who have been coming to Kau Tapen for the past decade. Conditions on the river were close to ideal and this, combined with the large number of fresh fish filling the river, led to fantastic week. We caught 175 fish, with an average weight of 8 lbs.
