Nervous Waters is proud to announce a new partnership with Christiaan Pretorius, fly fishing consultant, content creator, and one of the most passionate advocates for world-class fly fishing experiences we have ever had the pleasure of working with.
For those who haven’t yet crossed paths with Christiaan, allow us to introduce him properly. He has spent the better part of his life travelling the globe with a fly rod in hand—chasing fish that matter, learning from every destination he visits, and channelling that experience into creating truly unforgettable moments on the water for the people lucky enough to fish alongside him.
Our relationship with Christiaan runs deep. It began when he managed Abaco Lodge in the Bahamas on our behalf for three years—and it grew from there. Over the years he has travelled extensively throughout the Nervous Waters portfolio, fishing the wild rivers of Tierra del Fuego, the saltwater flats of Mexico and the Bahamas, and some of the finest lodges Argentina has to offer. What he observed across every one of those destinations was something we are quietly proud of: a consistency of quality and care that holds regardless of the hemisphere. That standard resonates with him personally because it mirrors the level of experience he is committed to delivering to his own clients. That shared philosophy is exactly what makes this partnership such a natural fit.
So what does this mean for you as a Nervous Waters guest? It means access to a new dimension of experience across our lodges—one that brings together Christiaan’s deep technical knowledge of each fishery, his gift for guiding and mentoring on the water, and his ability to capture the journey in a way that does it true justice.
